I stumbled on to your site looking for Inyo Hotsprings. I ended
up scanning your whole website. I looked at everything! Loved your road
trips through out Nevada, Utah and Arizona. I always wanted to travel
to all those spots and now have vicariously through you. The trip to
Death Valley was thrilling. Those Bristlepine trees are amazing! The
Valley of Fire pictures were breath taking. All those ghost towns were
fascinating. Area 51 was exciting. I want to go to the graveyard to see
the milkyway! There is so much to see. I really got a feel for how
tough it must have been for the pioneers. I forgot how brutal conditons
really are in the desert. Thanks for the experience. I'm a little
surprised you haven't been to Bodie State Park off the 395 south of
Tahoe to see that ghost town. Happy traveling!

I love your site. My brother and I have a similar site called
Exploring the Great Basin (www.dave.crockett.net) that I think you'd
enjoy. I plan on adding a link to your site.

Your site is great! My mom was a ghosttown enthusiast when I was
growing up and I got to visit almost all of the places you mentioned.
She always preferred the non-commercial sites like Berlin. You have
certainly brought back some very good memories, thank you!

Great Site! I stumbled here after reading the Soiree report from
Matt & Stinky, then spending some time at CheapoVegas and Big
Empire. I'm a long-time Vegas visitor, but I'm planning my first
side-trip to the Grand Canyon when I head that way next week. Your site
was very helpful.John

Mark,Heading to Vegas in less than 24 hours. Hope to hit Death
Valley and really enjoyed your reports on DV and Zion. Been to Zion and
it was spectacular. Wish I had met the gent who goaded you into the wet
foot hike in the Virgin River. I turned back, but I know I'll go there
soon. Great photos, nice composure and color. Do you shoot digital or
film? What equiptment do you use ? It seems that the person holding the
camera is the most important part of good photos. Best of Luck,Bill

From the newsgroup alt.vacation.las.vegas:
Thought it might be interesting to pick an AVLV Poster of the
year. Someone who posted interesting Vegas related information on a
regular basis. 12/12/03 5:48 AM

CmdrMark hits a home run-as usual! We use his TR's for ideas of places to go while in the area. The above suggestions are excellent. (Mark-you should consider publishing your Trip Reports!) Nov 21 2003, 10:05 AM
www.cmdrmark.com is a wonderful site. Cmdr Mark has links to everything from bordellos and brothels to trip reports about Oatman and Rte 66. Must reading for anyone who wants to see more than just the bright lights of The Strip. Nov 7 2004, 7:20 AM

As usual, an excellent trip report (and I don't care if it was OT). You have a great knack for making everything sound so interesting. I have added Amsterdam to my list of places to visit, when and if I get to Europe.Sat, 06 Jan 2001 09:30:18

And in the Press:
...we finally chanced upon a piece of rebar sticking up through the grass. A laminated sign at its base indicated that we had found the original geographic the 1962 version). Apparently, a geocache enthusiast known as CmdrMark (he has a great web site, www.cmdrmark.com) made the same search for the center of Nevada in August 2003. After successfully finding the 1962 and 2003 USGS sites, he marked both with the rebar and signs - The Backyard Traveler writing for the Nevada Appeal (Carson City), Gardnerville Record-Courier and the Lahontan Valley News (Fallon)
