Travels in the American Southwest

I have recently been published in Nevada Magazine. Be sure to read the article!

"Two paths diverged in the desert, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." *

In the newsgroup alt.vacation.las-vegas, I'm known as CmdrMark. Friends just call me Mark.

I like Las Vegas; The flashing lights and clink of coins as a machine pays off, the cries of joy when the point is made at the craps tables...I just wish it was my machine or table once in a while!

It's at times like this that I realize that one of the great things about Las Vegas is that it is in the middle of so many National and State parks as well as other interesting and off-beat places I would never have visited had I not been in Las Vegas. These places make a nice half day trip, full day excursion or even an overnighter or two if the fates have been less than kind at the machines and tables.

Be careful on your forays from Las Vegas, however. You may find that, like me, your future visits will involve more and more time away from the glitz and glitter favoring the the path less traveled by.
